5. Complexes and inorganic solids
The presence of ligands with an affinity for actinides will modify their speciation. Depending on complexation constants and ligand content in solution, new species may be formed. The aim here is not to give an exhaustive list of all known complex stoichiometries, but to indicate the compounds that should be taken into account when understanding a chemical system. Readers are referred to the OECD-NEA reviews, which explain the nature of these complexes and recommend values for their formation constants. .
