1. Additive manufacturing technologies

Material consolidation can be achieved by material deposition or by selective consolidation of a previously deposited material. Material deposition can be achieved by extrusion-deposition of a bead or by droplet projection. Selective consolidation involves scanning an energy beam (laser, electron or ion) through a bath of powder or liquid.
