Thermal sources, which have been developed over the last ten years on the basis of the concepts outlined above, are now beginning to be used in a wide range of applications. Here are a few examples.
4.1 Gas detection
Infrared is the spectral region par excellence in which many gases exhibit absorption lines linked to the rotational and vibrational resonances of chemical bonds.
