5. Lamellar nanocomposites with epoxy matrix

This section describes the key steps involved in developing epoxy matrix nanocomposites. Among plastics, polyepoxies have the most diverse range of uses . These thermosets can be found in almost every industrial sector, from microelectronics, glues and adhesives, paints and coatings to laminates used in shipbuilding and aeronautics. In most cases, the formation of an epoxy network results from the polycondensation reaction between an epoxy monomer and a hardener, one of the two having a functionality greater than 2.
