
2. Vinyl glues and adhesives
These adhesives are obtained by polymerization of vinyl acetate and therefore have the chemical formula :
They are produced as emulsions in water.
They are also known as "white glues" or PVAC (polyvinyl acetate) glues.
Base emulsions usually have dry extracts of between 55 and 58%.
Fillers, plasticizers and various additives are generally added to the base emulsion to adjust viscosity, cold stability (i.e. between 0 and 5°C) and setting speed.
