3.1 Refractory metals and alloys

As far as metals and alloys are concerned, innovative materials have been synthesized. For example, powder precursors of refractory metals such as molybdenum and tungsten have been compacted to submicrometer grain sizes, with compactities close to 97% and 99% respectively. Many alloys with thermoelectric properties have been shaped by SPS to optimize their density and consequently their properties
