2. Sintering

The lubricant used in uniaxial compression must be carefully removed during the heat-up phase, or during a preliminary heating operation, as the carbonaceous products formed during its decomposition are a serious obstacle to grain welding.

Sintering furnaces come in a wide variety of types, but the most common are continuous, muffled furnaces, where parts are conveyed on a wire belt.
