4. Applications

4.1 INZAT trial

This test, representative of a welding test, was developed at INSA Lyon to validate various calculation models as part of a research program involving several laboratories in the Rhône-Alpes region, as well as Framatome ANP, EDF, CEA and BCCN.

This is a disk heated at its center by a CO 2 laser so as to obtain axisymmetrical loading and thus be able to carry out fairly simple simulations (figure 11 ). To avoid having to consider poorly controlled phenomena such as convection in the molten bath in the simulations, the heat input is carefully controlled so that the central part of the disk reaches an austenitic state...
