2. Solid wood

Wood (or xylene) refers to the secondary lignified conductive tissue of gymnosperms (needle-bearing trees or conifers or conifers) and angiosperms (leaf-bearing trees or deciduous trees). The plant origin of wood explains not only its particular characteristics, but also its richness and variety. As a material with variable characteristics and more or less pronounced singularities, it differs in this respect from artificial or synthetic materials.

Wood is heterogeneous, anisotropic and hygroscopic.

•It is heterogeneous, as the cells that make it up are different in nature and shape, its density is irregularly distributed and growth singularities differentiate each piece.

•It is anisotropic, as its cellular structure is oriented. This cellular arrangement appears differently according to the three planes of observation...
