Usinage; machining

Shaping by material removal.

Blow; cutting

Cutting tool machining (milling, turning, drilling, broaching, tapping, planing, reaming, etc.).

Abrasion; abrasive machinings

High-hardness abrasive grain machining (grinding, honing, lapping, polishing, shot-peening or sandblasting, abrasive waterjet machining, ultrasonic machining; the last two are non-traditional machining processes).

Usinages physicochimiques; physico-chemical machinings

Machining by electrical discharge in a dielectric (electroerosion), plasma torch, flashlight effect (oxycutting), laser or electron beam, electrochemical or chemical reaction, water jet. These are all non-traditional machining processes.
