3. Deep-pass plane grinding at very high speed (RPPTGV)

RPPTGV or HEDG (High Efficiency Deep Grinding) is a process that combines deep-pass grinding and high-speed grinding to obtain a geometric shape with a high material throughput.

It is obtained by :

  • increasing the peripheral speed of the grinding wheel;

  • increasing the feed rate of the machined part.

In some cases, this process can replace milling or turning.

The parameters of the various rectification processes are given in table 2 .
