2. Chuck technology or bath models

2.1 Classification

Chucks are classified according to their use. There are two categories: permanent chucks and individual chucks.

2.1.1 Permanent chucks

These are mandrels whose electroformed cavities are regularly separated. Several electroforms, whose dimensional tolerances and surface finishes must be identical for series production, are obtained from the same mandrel. These mandrels are generally made of stainless steel, nickel- or chrome-plated steel, brass, copper, etc.
