
7. Weld finishing. Defectology
Finishing the welds consists of three simple steps:
slicing the bead (figure 8 );
straightening of the weld zone over 1.50 m on either side of the welded joint (figure 13 ) by manual pressing controlled by laser passage (in TGV rail, the weld peak must not exceed 0.3 mm over 3 m);
finish-grind the headstock to ensure shock-free wheel travel (figure 14 ).
