5. Conclusion

The dimensioning of a welded or brazed assembly under static load and in ductile condition is the essential preliminary step in the design of a mechanical part. In the case of bead-welded joints in particular, this stage of the design process, often ignored or carried out incorrectly, enables the dimensions of the bead grooves to be optimized, thereby reducing welding times and component deformation. This in turn reduces manufacturing costs and improves the quality and suitability of structures.
