Anti-vibration and shock-absorbing elastic suspensions seem to be a technology that is already well known and widely used in industry. Yet many more benefits could be obtained by conducting a more precise analysis of each application to select decoupling and suspension components offering the most useful performance!
The main areas for improvement are as follows:
improved attenuation of high frequencies, leading to greater acoustic comfort, thanks to better-designed insulators (minimization of internal resonances);
the availability of highly damped elastomers with increasingly high performance in terms of temperature stability, creep resistance and mechanical strength, making it possible to obtain purely elastomeric suspensions with surge coefficients of less than 5, and therefore...
