3. Specific features of helical extension springs

3.1 Tension spring clips

In addition to the N "useful" coils used to calculate flexibility (or its inverse, stiffness), coil springs include connecting means for the tension spring.

The forces are applied to the tension spring:

  • or by rings, loops or hooks formed in the wire of the spring itself (figure 24 ) for the most common forms;

  • or by accessories connected to the spring (figure 25 ).
