2. Stabilizers
2.1 Presentation
A stabilizer, positioned between two wheels, balances their loads and restores equilibrium by transferring part of the other wheel's overload to the wheel with the lighter load. Some stabilizers perform both suspension and stabilization functions; this is the case of the transverse leaf spring, which is articulated at two points to the vehicle body and whose ends are each applied to one wheel.
Despite its advantages, this system only applies to certain light automobiles.
The ordinary stabilizer only comes into play in the suspension in the event of imbalance between the loads of the two wheels to which it is attached. It can consist of a torsion bar, each head of which is embedded in an arm articulated on the chassis,...
