2. Rugbor v2 Ergometer
The Rugbor v2 ergometer is an improved version of a prototype ergometer that was used to estimate the forces generated by a single player during an impact engagement, given that the few studies carried out looked at the thrust force of the entire eight-player pack. This prototype measured thrust force in a single direction. The force definition range was determined for amateur rugby players.
After a functional analysis, the new ergometer was to test a large number of players with varying levels of expertise (from amateur to professional), to study player behavior in the scrum position and, when in use, to reassure both the player during the tests and the experimenter in terms of settings.
