The above theorems apply to any material system, whose points O and A are totally independent; it is nevertheless useful to explain the kinetic quantities in the case where the system considered is reduced to an undeformable solid, which is considered to be linked to the moving reference frame : the kinematic study of the moving reference frame is equivalent to that of the solid.
