2. Dynamic response of clutch coupled with vehicle and engine

2.1 General

The vibrations coming from the engine are mainly torsional vibrations. This is due to the motor's explosions, which have a certain cadence linked to the motor's rotation speed.

To filter out these vibrations, a torsional vibration damper must be fitted between the flywheel and gearbox. This can be provided by a friction damper or a DVA (double flywheel damper), figure 12 .
