7.1 Joint design and improvement
Developments, often seemingly minimal, and the current state of front-wheel-drive constant velocity joints owe a great deal to observations made during and after tests carried out on specific test benches.
Three types of test are significant and should be taken into account if, as is increasingly envisaged, these tests are to replace road tests, thus reproducing all the constraints – but no more – of working on vehicles, while shortening the time needed to obtain results.
