6.1 Parameters to be taken into account
In addition to the main geometric dimensions, a very large number of second-order parameters (around twenty) need to be set to define the complete geometry of the impeller and its rectifier. These multiple, often arbitrary, choices may be guided by a variety of considerations, such as reduced space requirements, optimized performance (efficiency, NPSH, noise and vibration), stability of characteristics, compliance with geometric constraints imposed by the installation, etc.
Other factors can be taken into account to ensure the best possible compliance with the specifications:
the nature of the liquid being pumped, its density, viscosity and, in particular, whether or not...
