4. Simplified support modeling

Engine mounts are considered to be adapters between the GMP and the body, but their role is no less important. They are the last links in the transmission chain formed by the GMP. Their main characteristics for acoustics are their static stiffness and their first natural frequencies. They play a part in the more or less amplified transmission of GMP vibrations (particularly gearbox vibrations, not covered in this study).
