2. Use of centripetal turbines

2.1 Description

We'll use the example of a small automotive turbocharger turbine to describe how a centripetal turbine works.

As shown in figure 4 , a centripetal turbine comprises, following the direction of gas flow: an inlet flange, a volute, a distributor, a rotating impeller, a diffuser and an exhaust flange.
