2. Vehicle performance

In this section, we explain how the main components of vehicle performance are established, namely maximum speed (on the flat or uphill), acceleration capacity and clearance capacity.

We clearly show how gearbox ratios affect these items, based on an "example vehicle" (taken from [BM 2 582] ) whose main characteristics are shown in table 1 .
