2. Description of alanates

Alanates are inorganic compounds formed by an anionic complex [AlH (n+3) ] n– and a metal cation M n+ (alkaline: Li + , Na + , K + or alkaline earth: Be 2+ , Mg 2+ , Ca 2+ , Ba 2+ , Sr 2+ ) joined by an ionic bond.
