A method for producing hydrogen by dissociating water on the surface of a reducing agent.

Passivation layer; passive layer

A layer of oxide or hydroxide on the surface of a metal that prevents corrosion from spreading to the core of the material.

Couplage galvanique; galvanic coupling

The phenomenon of accelerated corrosion of a metal in contact with another, more noble metal.

Ball milling

Powder synthesis or preparation technique enabling high reactivity to be achieved. It involves colliding powder with balls at very high speeds.
