5. Operating efficiency for greener analytical chemistry
In addition to the various ways described above of making analytical chemistry greener, complementary strategies are being developed to limit the handling of toxic products, while at the same time being economically favorable. The first involves the development of chemometrics techniques to limit the number of experiments or make better use of the experiments performed. The second is to automate the most demanding stages of analysis, in particular with the development of continuous flow analysis techniques. Finally, techniques for treating and recycling harmful effluents are beginning to appear in laboratories.
