5. Conclusion and outlook for ecodesign
Compared with environmental management reference methods, ISO 14044 product/process life cycle assessment, our technology has a low environmental impact and reduced risk for man and his environment. In fact, input (energy and water consumption, recyclable medium, materials) and output (no mineral discharges and no CO 2 emissions as the process uses it as a material source) flows during the manufacturing process have been drastically reduced. This global vision provided by ecodesign in relation to green chemistry enables us to identify new avenues for improvement. In particular, innovations need to be made to the structure of imidazolium compounds, so that they can be better valorized at the end of their life cycle.
