2. Membrane contactors for post-combustion carbon dioxide capture
Almost unanimously, carbon dioxide is recognized as one of the main greenhouse gases (GHGs), contributing to global warming. To limit anthropogenic CO 2 emissions, one of the options advocated is the capture and storage of produced carbon dioxide (CCS) [11].
With this in mind, experts recommend amine capture as the mature technical solution for capturing 80-90% of CO 2 in post-combustion, with purity close to 90%.
