2. Principles and steps of the PMO2000® method
2.1 Principles
The PMO2000 method ® owes its name of inverted reliability-based maintenance method to the fact that it starts from a maintenance program already in place for the equipment. Based on an inventory of existing maintenance programs, it searches for associated failures. Then, using specialist knowledge, new failure modes are sought to supplement the content of the maintenance programs. Based on an analysis of the consequences of the failures, inspired by the initial RCM method (obvious and hidden failures and impacts on safety and production), new tasks are defined or improved, along with their completion intervals.
