3.1 Case presentation
This example is inspired by the one presented in to illustrate the application of the PDS method. The system under consideration is a HIPPS (High Integrity Pressure Protection System) designed to protect equipment from pressure surges. The system consists of :
three pressure transmitters (PT1, PT2 and PT3) with 2oo3 redundancy;
a safety PLC with redundant input, CPU and output boards;
two isolation valves (V1 and V2) in 1oo2 redundancy.
