3. Methods and means of protection

3.1 Remoteness, effort and energy limitation

Most mechanical hazards can be eliminated by building in minimum safety distances.

Compliance with them keeps the danger zone away from the human body or part of it. Consequently, the main factors to be taken into account for effective protection are :

  • accessibility of the danger zone with the human body or its various parts ;

  • anthropometric dimensions of the human body and its various parts ;
