1. Biological hazards

In occupational health, the notion of "biological agents" is defined in European regulations as micro-organisms (bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa and prions), including genetically modified micro-organisms, cell cultures and human endoparasites, liable to cause infection, allergy or intoxication.

Note :

cell cultures derived from isolated cells of human or animal origin are included in the definition of biological agents, on the one hand because they are likely to be contaminated by pathogenic biological agents, and on the other because cells derived from certain continuous lines could accidentally implant themselves in a worker and lead to the development...
