7. American regulations
7.1 General
Known as Export Administration Regulation (EAR), U.S. regulations are administered by the Department of Commerce (DoC) under the Export Administration Act of 1979 and its amendments.
It is published under Title 15 of the Commerce and Foreign Trade (CFR), parts 730 to 774.
All these documents are available on the Doc or Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) websites (see Pour en Savoir plus).
Because of its extraterritoriality, US export control regulations on dual-use goods apply not only to US companies and citizens, but to all those who, directly or indirectly, export or transfer goods, components, software or technology of US origin.
