5. Conclusion

The CWA-RBIM risk-based inspection and maintenance method was initially developed as part of the European Community's RIMAP project. Subsequently, these concepts were formalized first in the document (CWA 15740) CEN Workshop Agreement and then in the European pre-standard prEN 16991 in 2016. In line with the objectives defined in the pre-standard, the CWA-RBIM method is based on a set of guidelines for developing an inspection and maintenance program applicable to many industrial sectors (chemical and petrochemical processes, power generation).

Although the RBIM guidelines cover inspection and maintenance methods, they are mainly concerned with the inspection of static equipment at risk from loss of containment. For other equipment families, the reliability-based maintenance (RCM) method is recommended, but there are no specific recommendations for establishing...
