4.1 Molding cycle
The standard molding cycle for a part processed by the RIM process can be described as follows:
PRESS OPENING;
demoulding of the previous part after movement of the moving parts of the tooling, if necessary;
brief cleaning of the mould to remove any burrs from the parting lines;
application of external release agent where non-self-releasing materials are used;
moving the mould's moving parts so that the mould can be closed;
closing the press after tilting the platens to the horizontal position ;
