Réaction au feu; reaction to fire
According to [ISO 13943], response of a test specimen when exposed to fire under specified fire test conditions.
Résistance au feu; fire resistance
According to [ISO 13943], the ability of a test specimen to resist fire or to provide protection against fire for a certain period of time.
Note: The criteria generally used to assess fire resistance in a standardized fire test are fire-tightness, fire stability and thermal insulation.
Comportement au feu; fire behaviour
According to [ISO 13943], change, or maintenance, of the physical and/or chemical properties of an object and/or structure exposed to fire.
Note: This concept encompasses both reaction to fire and resistance to fire....
