NF EN ISO 846 – Plastics – Evaluation of the action of micro-organisms.
1.1 Principle
Studying the behavior of plastics in the presence of micro-organisms requires the application of techniques that can only be carried out by qualified personnel, specially trained in microbiology techniques. Codes of good practice for disinfection, sterilization and hygiene must be strictly observed.
Standard NF EN ISO 846 prescribes methods for determining the deterioration of plastics exposed to fungi, bacteria or micro-organisms living in the soil. The extent of deterioration is assessed by visual examination, and/or from variations in mass or other physical properties.
