5. Some examples of measurements and applications

A change in dashboard material due to a change of supplier is likely to change the customer's tactile perception. In this case, the original material is the tactile target to be investigated. Several substitute materials are then sensorially evaluated by a panel of experts and compared with the target profile.

In practice, a panel of 12 people trained to use the Sensotact® tactile reference system evaluate the target and substitute materials on three blind occasions.
