2. Producers

Mastery of primary processing techniques, such as sheet casting and extrusion, is just as important as polymerization, which explains the relative importance of very large producers and the specialization of medium-sized producers in sheet.

PMMA markets are highly fragmented, covering a very wide range of technical applications. Regional differences and the scattering of applications explain the presence of small producers alongside the very large global ones.

While there are only a few monomer producers in the world, there are many more polymer manufacturers. If they don't produce MMA themselves, they buy the monomer on the market, which, given the product's instability, poses problems of transport and handling.

The main outlet for MMA is PMMA. Other outlets are surface coatings.
