Polyamides are marketed either as semi-finished products (fibers, yarns, filaments) or as granules and powders that are further processed by melting.
2.1 Global market
Various sources including the Bureau d'Information et de Prévisions Économiques (BIPE).
In 1992, approximately 4.5 million tonnes of polyamides were processed worldwide, including 3.6 million in the form of textile fibres, mainly from PA 6 and PA 6-6, and 900 kt in the form of granules, broken down as follows:
