7. Conclusion
The structure and presence of non-rubber products give natural rubber very specific properties, notably crystallization in the raw or vulcanized state. This makes it an irreplaceable material for many applications, especially tires. A great deal of research has been carried out to improve the quality of natural rubber, and this work is continuing apace. In addition, work is underway to carry out chemical modifications during processing to give products specific properties: for example, functionalization for better interaction with fillers.
