2.1 Resin properties
Cross-linked aminoplast resins are colorless and transparent. They are highly resistant to chemical agents. They have good resistance to tracking currents, temperature and flame. Their surface hardness is very high.
Resins made from melamine have higher heat resistance, moisture resistance and chemical resistance than those made from urea. The same applies to surface hardness. They crosslink faster, even at less acidic pH.

1 Presentation and business forms
1.1 Resins
Urea-based resins generally take the form of a syrup (aqueous solution) containing 50-65% solids. Some wood glues come in UF powder form, sometimes containing a hardener. Liquid glues may contain a filler (e.g. wood flour).
Melamine- or melamine/phenol-based resins are marketed in syrup or powder form....
