2. Definitions

For all the terms listed below, please refer to NF EN 13006 – Maintenance – Maintenance terminology.

The purpose of this section is not to repeat each of these definitions, but to remind the reader of the fundamentals of maintenance.

However, for each of the terms listed below, reference will be made to the article number corresponding to its normative definition.

2.1 Different types of maintenance (see EN 13306, § 2.1)

Maintenance is the sum total of all actions, technical and administrative, undertaken on an asset to enable it to function correctly for as long as possible.

Ideally, we'd be content to carry out preventive maintenance, but unfortunately corrective maintenance is impossible...
