1. Wind power generation systems
Wind power is the energy from the wind captured by wind turbines and transformed into electrical energy. Wind power production is expanding rapidly thanks to technological advances and regulations aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the use of fossil fuels.
Wind turbines are usually grouped together in a "wind farm", either onshore or offshore. Onshore wind turbines are fixed in the ground, while offshore wind turbines are anchored to the seabed in areas where the water depth does not exceed 40 m. However, offshore wind turbines can also be installed far from the coast (farshore) on floating bases. These floating wind turbines are still in the development phase.
