4. Example of application to a volumetric and chemical control system (RCV)
The system used as an example for teaching purposes has the generic characteristics of the majority of RCV systems in a pressurized water power plant. It corresponds in part to a Westinghouse-type nuclear plant. Given the complexity of the AP913 approach, the main focus will be on identifying critical functions and equipment, and developing preventive maintenance task schedules in line with reliability-based maintenance (RBM), rather than on life-cycle and obsolescence management. As AP913 is mainly a recommendation guide, maintenance criteria and strategies specific to this example will be proposed.
