2. Definition of the Architect's profession
Architecture is a regulated profession. The law of January 3, 1977 marked the legislator's desire to preserve and promote architectural quality for the first time, by declaring in article 1 er : "Architecture is an expression of culture. Architectural creation, the quality of buildings, their harmonious integration into the surrounding environment, respect for natural or urban landscapes and heritage are of public interest."
Law no. 77-2 of January 3, 1977 on architecture, published in the Journal Officiel on January 4, 1977, was consolidated on July 11, 2016, thanks to the efforts of the Ordre des Architectes and architects' unions.
