5. Standards referencing
5.1 Fixed or sliding reference
A fixed reference is when a legislative or regulatory text designates a standard with its precise version, including publication date: ISO 22342 (2023), for example. This also applies to contractual documents: contracts, quality plans, specifications, etc.
On the other hand, a sliding reference is used when the version date is not specified. In general, this implies, without any legal guarantee, that the version concerned is the one in force at the time of publication of the text.
