5. Conclusion

This is a concrete reminder of the complex nature of design work, which must gather, process, cross-reference and synthesize data of different kinds concerning the parties involved and the corresponding needs. It expresses a multi-disciplinary point of view, comparing the uses and practices of Quality, Design and Ergonomics.

The innovative point concerns the introduction of the concept of direct and indirect users, which enables us to take the analysis of stakeholders and the search for needs a step further. This introduction led us to question existing tools and methods, in order to consider which might or might not enable us to identify the different types of users and their needs. It appears that none of the existing methods was established for this purpose, but that, on the other hand, many can be supplemented to meet it, however imperfectly.
